Donation from friends in Germany has been received

This week, Ludza municipality was visited by our friends from Germany – Aue municipality. Cooperation agreement is concluded between Aue Municipality and Ludza, Cibla, Karsava and Zilupe Municipalites. One of directions for cooperation between our municipalities is social help, which is rendered to us by our German friends.

Latvia’s Friends’Club of Bad Bodenteich, after Rolf Simon’s decease on 9 December 2016, is being directed by Thomas Grams. From the part of Ludza Municipality, this cooperation is coordinated by Liga Kondrate – the director of Tourist information centre of Ludza municipality.

She informs that on 12 June a special dispatch was delivered to Ludza – 15 thousand diapers for adults, which was divided between the social service departments of all four municipalities. 1.5 thousand diapers were donated by administration of a social care home in Bockel village. This village is situated in the neighbourhood of Bad Bodenteich. Germans call this social care home a harbour for peace and rest “Romance”.

Director of Social Service Department of Ludza Municipality Lilita Gorbunova–Kozlova informs that part of the donated diapers has been handed over to the Social care centre “Ludza” in Garbari where they will be used for the needs of the clients; part of the diapers – to the residents of Raipole social lodging; the rest of the diapers stays in Social Service Department and will be used for the needs of persons who are receiving home care service.

– We are so grateful to our friends in Germany, who remember our people and donate such good and valuable things without which people receiving social care cannot get along. We thank our friends and are delighted about our friendship! – representatives of Ludza Municipality say.

Liga Kondrate adds that this dispatch is not the first one of this kind received by our municipalities and social service departments from different donors in Germany through our Friends’ Club. Gita and Thomas Grams are old friends of Ludza residents. This time they were accompanied by their friend from Saldus – Aldis Kalnietis.

– Now we will be waiting for our Bad Bodenteich friends’ visit in August – for the celebration of Ludza town anniversary, – invites Liga Kondrate promising: – We will try to delight everyone with multiform cultural programme and hospitable reception!
